from moments to memories.

Blink, and I was back from Taiwan for more than a month. I craved so much for those food back in Taiwan, which made me felt so cheated for the yucky shui jian bao i bought at the pasar malam, and Mr Baoz from City Sq. They were not only far from what I ate then, but tasted horrible to me. The only item that tasted as great was the japanese snack since it's pre-packed. Get it from Market Place or the Japanese Supermarket at Central. Heavenly!

I am so lazy to post the pictures from Taiwan because there are loads of them, but I want to excite pple with it. haha.

Anw, guessed I've mentioned that we saw Jolin on the day before we came back, bcos the venue of her autograph session is right in front of our hotel. I thought she's really pretty in real life! Slim arms, lean body, big eyes, perfect hairstyle & colour...........

The afternoon before the day we depart was spent at Miramar Entertainment Park/Shopping Mall. So that's the place I always see in drama. I ain't REALLY afraid of height, but i felt like i could die of fear any moment as soon as we were at some height. I totally detest these kind of slow torturing moments. Cable cars, ferris wheel, etc. but I'm still gonna hop on Singapore Flyer thou.

I looked stiff in every picture bcos I dare not move, afraid that the cabin would jerk and fell off, and I die unglamly. At least now, I am alive looking at my unglam shots.

Back then.

Time check: 1.38am

I know it is against the law of diet, but it keeps me in a foul mood to go to bed in hunger. Being greedy Singaporean, I tabao-ed plenty of food back from city sq for the sake of the worth deal and I simply love buying a lot a lot of food! Auntie Anne's, Secret Recipe, Egg Tarts, Mr Baoz- so much till I wonder who will finish them. Anyway I only had 2 bites of the cheesecake cos it turned out to be the coffee flavoured. Ok, I confessed that I actually came back from Brandon's bbq and ate another egg tart when I got home. Hur hur.

Headed to Tampines One with Ho-Tan Mavis. Singaporeans! They flocked to new places at the very first minute to join the crowd. I am one of them. But the only shop we went was Uniqlo, which we queued for like 1/2 hour before we got into the store. More and more shopping malls are springing up and others are under renovation for expansion. Damn it, I'm feeling uncomfortable from the top to the bottom- I need to shop!

I duno how I am supposed to feel like, to be working when everyone else is busy with university application, to be starting sch in May when everyone else is eagerly waiting for acceptance letter. At the very least I don need to be bothered so much. I set my route and I will walk my path beautifully. I love my job because it doesn't make me dread going to work every morning and somehow I know there are stuffs worth looking forward to. They make me realised that working society can be great, nice people still exist.

There are more important stuff that needs my attention, thou I very much hope to escape from it. You being nice to me at this point of time just makes me feel even worst. I can't let it go like that with the matter of time. Why couldn't you understand and come to your senses?

Strange.

Formosa Foodiology Therapy!

I am not a person who can convince you about good food, or rather the last person you would wished to hear from, be it from the way you see how I enjoy them un-enjoyably, or trying to come up with amazing adjectives & vocab to define every single detail bout its worthiness. Looking at the pictures is enough to get your taste buds go wild, and stop swallowing so hard so that you won't drool.

Avee's Guide: Top 15 Must-try!

1~ Original Flavored Egg Tarts from KFC 葡式蛋侤撻

Available only after breakfast hour. There are a few different flavors to choose from. We'd original & kyushu sweet potato, and concluded that original's the best. The crispy crust, soft & fine texture of the fillings, everything just melts in your mouth. Every bite sends you to heaven. & srz actually bought the original egg tart box consisting of 6 heavenly tarts home :)

2~ Fried Egg Roll
蛋餅
Resembles Egg Crepe you can get from Shilin outlets in sg, only difference is that it tastes way better. The skin of the wrap is very chewy & Q, with combination of egg, cheese, floss. The famous Yong Heng Dou Jiang (located jus opp Eat Dragon Hotel) sells these too, but a random store we went jus opp Cityhall station were as satisfying.

3~ Pon De Ring from Mister Donut 波堤
http://www.misterdonut.com.tw/product/index.htm
The packaging is enough to lure you inside the shop to have a peek at the selection of donuts. All the 甜甜圈 are soft and chewy, far from donuts you find in sg which taste very dough-y. Best consumed immediately bcos the 六小富 I left overnight weren't as yummy. The have promotions after a certain timing at night to clear the stocks, and they have everything packed nicely for you.

4~ 30-cm Ice Cream from Luo Dong Night Market 巨无霸霜淇淋
The legendary 30-cm tall ice cream! I figured it's more like bing-qi-ling rather den xue-gao, bcos of the icy texture. The shaving of the ice is very fine & the chocolate taste is strong which explains why we haave to had it despite the cold weather. Available quite commonly at the night markets (3rd pic from Dan shui).

5~ Green Onion Pancake from Luo Dong Night Market 葱油饼
I was kind of hostile for trying intially since it's cong. It will be a major regret if I did not try it. It smells nice, surprisingly. Perhaps we added egg which covers every tinge bit of onion taste. They match it with some kind of sause, and the combination is perfect. Pardon me, i don't have a perfect shot to explain how tempting it is. The stall (3rd pic) in Shilin has an extremely long queue so we'd to give it a miss cos we were shivering in 12degc.

6~ Dumplings from Liu Ho Night Market 饺子
The 1st dish we'd when we're at Liu Ho, and I secretly wanted to try it again before we head back to our hotel. Everything about it remains deeply engraved in my mind. I thought it was really really near to perfect. Sold at TWD 4cents each, with minimum purchase of 10. If you wished to eat in, minimum of 10 per pax! I can't imagine swallowing 10 at 1 go so we ordered take away.

7~ Blended Fruit Drink from Luo Dong Night Market 水果牛奶冰
I think i can never find such authentic original fruity drinks in sg, with generous amount of cut fruits to top it up. The fruits are sweet & succulent. The bright colours of different fruits displayed makes u wanna buy them all to try!

8~ Tong Luo Shao from Luo Dong Night Market
We happened to pass by the stall on our way back to hotel & thought we make it our breakfast. I didn't know that these can taste so nice bcos those I'd in sg were like dry & hard. But no! They were soft & tasty and red bean inside were huge and sweet. Even random ones I bought at 7-Eleven tasted good. Hmm, maybe you equally as ignorant as me with no childhood- I got to know that Tong Luo Shao's Doremon's fave only at Taoyuan Airport. Ha-Ha.
The best picture I could find on the internet. Mine looks way more tempting, with cute cartoon characters...

9~ Ah Zong Mee Sua from Shilin Night Market 阿宗面缐
Needless to mention, this is definitely a must-try. Adding chili to the hot dish makes you sweat & near to bursting into tears. Shiok. Dine-in available with plenty of seats- seats only.

10~ Japanese Strawberry Snack from 7-Eleven
Random snack we bought from 7-11 to munch while on the train to Kaohsiung. Turned out to be surprising pleasing. It has texture of biscuit buts melts in your mouth. Eating a whole pack by yourself won't make you get sick of it, but tempts you to run to 7-11 for more! I saw similar ones at Market Place, RC only at a much higher price of cos.

11~ Mala Hot Pot Buffet from Fei Tian Mala Hotpot
One look at the small range of food displayed indeed led to some disappointment. But my view changed after dining in, because food were great, staff are nice. I kept complaining to the staff why there isn't chocolate ice cream available.. haha and in the end he dug out 2 peanut-chocolate coated ice cream for us before going to another outlet. Dipping the you-tiao into the mala soup bound to trigger your taste bud. I love the noodles and the seasame mochi as well. There's also plenty of fruits, drinks, ice cream. Worth it :)

12~ Panda Buns from Mr Baoz in Yilan 包子先生
I've no idea to say that we were in luck or out of luck. After spending time at the waterfall in Yilan, we were searching high & low for Mr Baoz. We asked for directions from various locals and after a damn long walk, we were led to some famous store selling tradtional buns. I mean famous till the extend they get pple coming just to buy the buns in bulk, and the queue is always there waiting for batches of baos hot from the steam tray. It was only when we were on our way back from Luo dong Night Market that we chance upon Mr Baoz. Damn it so you are at Luo Dong! Ok, I guess we were in luck:)
The popular panda bao was the best, comes in 3 flavors if i din rmbr wrongly. Filled with rich red beans paste. A pity we only tried it back in our hotel when it turned cold. It even taste so good, bet it's heavenly when steaming hot.

13~ Potato Chip Hotdog from Liu Ho Night Market 热狗
You can find this commonly anywhere in night market or along the streets at night but this is the only store with patterns for the coating & flavours. We'd the potato chip crust (on the extreme right), and it was so very crunchy. There's even cheese toppings. Oh, sinful.....

15~ Sweet tooth from Cold Stone Creamery
I think it taste even better than Ben & Jerry. The servings are filling to our tummies, the waffle crust is crispy, the texture of ice cream is smooth, the taste is authentic, the strawberry flavour I had is rich. From the first day we saw the advertisement in Xi Men Ding we wanted to give it a try, but called off the idea cos of the unhelpful weather. So when we were in Kaoh Siung, we knew we had to have it. You would want to lick the last bit off your bowl haha..

Of course, there are more delicacies worth trying that I almost wanted to list down 20 rather than 15. Like the Mochi from Yilan's famous bakery, red bean dumpling from Din Tai Fung, Modern Toilet Resturant, Mua Chee from roadside stall, all the desserts, etc...

and gosh. i really do miss Taiwan & the food so much when i passed by Pasar Malam yesterday and saw the shui jian bao, tong luo shao................ *tummy growls*
